1. I am finally home, only to discover with 90% certainty that my sister is now taller than me. I'm not positive because when it dawned on me that she might be taller, I sat down to avoid any potential comparison.

2. After starting my quest to get back into decent cardio shape, I finally mustered the mental strength to break seven minutes in the mile. Weak sauce by trackie standards but I'm pretty pleased.

3. Weirdly enough my sleep schedule is completely messed up after being home for less than a week. That happened a lot faster than I expected...

[1] did you know that if you go to flatbread co. [pizza place next to melting pot in bedford] at closing time by accident, they give you a coupon for a free pizza because they "don't want to send you away empty handed"? true story.

[2] watched rise of the planet apes and the change up yesterday, both movies i liked. rise of the planet apes had a good plot, i was never bored, it was emotional, and they didn't let the romantic side plot dominate the movie either. james franco and freida pinto are great. the change up was funny too, ryan reynolds and jason bateman acted well in it, being able to play two characters. we were going to see crazy stupid love as well but we kinda started this movie marathon too late, at 7pm so we didn't. still, it was awesome

[3] volunteered to educate about sun safety yesterday and it was a chickfest [8 chicks and me]. the last time i did it, it was also a chickfest [3 chicks and me]. i'm convinced that only women are interested in volunteering for sun safety awareness. these chicks sucked too, they were either pre-meddy, totally unfriendly, super annoying, or trying to show off. i ended up talking most of the time to the old driver who was a classic elderly person- super chatty, just like frattyo.

1. finally got my wisdom teeth extracted.

2. didn't end up looking like a chipmunk... success!

3. got sick of eating soft foods all the time (except ice cream. i could eat ice cream all day. did you know there's some new shop in concord? best. oreo. ice cream. ever.) but i still have holes in the back of my mouth.

whoo, i'm on a roll at this thing. if only i could focus this well on other more important things.

rlew rediscovers 3 things (w/soobs help)

1. soobs drank champagne & painted her nails & then fell asleep. & then went out...tru story.

2. saw captain america & it was awesome.

3. soobs says she went to gansvoort and met serbs. no idea who serbs is. but she didnt see the pool so now we have to go back :)

let's just say i've never been so updated on world news, seeing i go through (pick and choose fun articles) the boston globe, the new york times, the BBC, CNN, and once in a while the Mail and Guardian from South Africa...

1. but when i'm actually doing work- i've learned a ridiculous amount about bedford, ma. which is tiny. did you know it only has a population of 13,000?

2. i still spend my time agonizing over orgo and all those other mcat subjects. just went over all those isomers- enantiomers, diastereomers. scary shit.

3. went to see friends w/ benefits last night with my roomie. No Strings Attached v. 2, which was fantastic. and had some fabulous references in it as well- hp, the hudson river landing, easy A. goooo see it!

1. went mini-golfing, which was devastatingly not as good as Kimballs.

2. went to an outdoors Chi symphony orchestra concert, which we listened to for approx. 5 minutes before we started playing kings.

3. had a mini breakdown during brunch over my post-college living in a box plan, and decided i need to visit the career center asap. or change my major to engineering.

1. saw the proposal last night and recognized some scenes in massachusetts that were said to be in alaska, where the movie takes place. looked it up and found out they filmed in MA but digitally added in snow capped mountains!

2. went to crane's beach last saturday and have so many fly bites to show for it. but it was so beautiful there. didn't even know about half price parking if you go late.

3. gonna drive across the country. now that's fuckin' awesome!

SUMMERTIME

this week i..

1. almost melted in the subway station - it is SO HOT OUT

2. went to restaurant week in the meatpacking district and had the best guacamole ever.

3. found out that frat reads?!?

it's been so long!

this week i....

1) turned 21

2) realized i'd lost my driver's license for the first time in three years 40 minutes before midnight on my 21st birthday

3) used a print-out copy of my passport as id on my 21st birthday which was more sketch-looking then the fake i've been using for the past 3 years

life is full of irony.

i have no life.

let's preface this with "at least i was in south africa before this".

1. I'm a public health intern 3 days a week.

2. At all other times, I'm desperately studying for the mcats. Only, I'm not sure if summer makes my productivity go up or down.

3. most of my social life currently revolves around my parents and grandparents. it's probably an effect of #2 where I have no faith in my time management skills (I actually just typed 'life' by accident... or maybe subconsciously it wasn't one)...

iceland express (airline), these are some things that occurred to me on my flight home last night...

1. 2h delay due to computer problems.. really? really?

2. people were staring at me, and i had no clue why. one stopover later and a trip to the toilets, i figure it out- i had conjunctivitis

3. they lost my luggage and probably 30+ other peoples' luggages too. how insane is that?

4. they also made me throw things out because it was 12kg overweight so i ended up going to the toilets and leaving a pile of socks, underwear, undershirts, sunglasses, papers, and liquids in one of the stalls

5. budget airline means no complimentary service of any kind

it was an absolute nightmare, but not my worst flight ever- can you imagine what could be worse?
